Jeffrey S. Wascher, DDS - Partner
Dr. Jeffrey Wascher is co-owner of our office along with Dr. Jackson. He is a graduate of Loyola University School of Dentistry, where he earned the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons Achievement Award and the Oral Surgery Clinical Honors Award. After completing a one year general practice dental residency at Michael Reese Hospital, Dr. Wascher joined this practice in 1990.
Dr. Wascher always takes continuing education credit above the annual requirements for the profession. He is passionate about dental devices for snoring & sleep apnea sufferers as alternatives to their uncomfortable CPAP machines. These dental devices also cause dramatic improvements in the sleep quality of the patient's partner too.
Dr. Wascher lives in his hometown of Downers Grove with his wife Juli and two sons, Zack and Max. In his free time, he is active in local Boy Scouts Troop 99. He is a merit badge counselor for several athletic badges as well as the dental merit badge. Dr. Wascher and his sons bleed Blackhawk Black & Red. Watch the stands closely on TV as attending Hawks games are one of their favorite pastimes.
Dr. Wascher's professional memberships include the L.D. Pankey Alumni Association, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, and the Academy of Sports Dentistry.
Eric G. Jackson, DDS, FAGD, FICOI, FADI - Partner
Dr. Eric Jackson is co-owner of our office along with Dr. Wascher. He was raised in Oak Brook and attended Hinsdale Central High School and was a member of the tennis team as well as the basketball team that made the Illinois IHSA State Tournament two years in a row. After graduating high school, he completed his undergraduate training at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and his dental training at the University of Illinois College of Dentistry in Chicago. Dr. Jackson was awarded the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology Award prior to graduation from dental school.
Dr. Jackson is a firm believer in the importance of lifelong learning and takes numerous continuing education courses annually to further his skill. He has amassed over 1150 hours of continuing education and in 2010 was awarded Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry at the organization's national meeting in New Orleans, Louisiana. Dr. Jackson was one of only three dentists in all of Illinois to earn this accolade in 2010. Less than 5%of all general dentists in history have achieved Fellowship in the AGD. Dr. Jackson has a passion for dental implants and dental implant surgery. He has surgically placed over 1600 dental implants and restored many more. His surgical skill extends beyond implants to include bone and sinus grafting as well as minor periodontal surgical procedures. In 2011, Dr. Jackson was awarded Fellowship in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI) for his skills and acomplishments in both implant surgery and implant restoration. Dr. Jackson was awarded Fellowship in the Academy of Dentistry International (ADI) in 2011 as well. The ADI is a dental honorary society and Dr. Jackson was honored to be one of only 27 inductees from the United States granted fellowhip that year. In addition to implant and cosmetic dentistry, Dr. Jackson is trained in Invisalign orthodontic therapy (a 2010 & 2011 Invisalign Premier Provider), snoring & sleep apnea dental appliances, and became a certified graduate of the International Center for Laser Education for diode laser dentistry and dental surgery in 2010.
Dr. Jackson has served on the Chicago Component of the Illinois Academy of General Dentistry (CAGD) Board of Directors since 2010. This honor has allowed Dr. Jackson to further the profession of dentistry on local, statewide, and national levels. In 2011 he was elected Editor of the CAGD and will therefore serve as the president of the organization in 2015. He serves as a manuscript editor for General Dentistry magazine, a national publication. Dr. Jackson has been named as one of "America's Top Dentists" by the Consumer Research Council of America for both 2007 and 2010. In 2011 he was inducted into The International Association of Dentists and listed in 2011 edition of The Leading Physicians of the World. On multiple occasions, Dr. Jackson has lectured to other dental professionals at various Chicagoland dental study clubs. He also enjoys speaking for local community groups about a variety of modern dental topics.
Dr. Jackson is actively committed to enabling all income levels having access to quality dental care. He volunteers at the DuPage Community Clinic in Wheaton, IL where he and other volunteer healthcare professionals provide free care to low income, medically uninsured residents of DuPage County. It is a wonderful organization that has served the residents of DuPage County for over 16 years. Dr. Jackson has a love for dentistry in his blood. During the period between the 1940’s through the 1960’s, Dr. Jackson’s great-grandfather owned and operated Modern Dental Laboratory located at 63rd and Halsted in Chicago. Dr. Jackson’s father is a practicing orthodontist near Midway Airport in Chicago. In addition to private practice, his father is a clinical assistant professor in the Orthodontic Department at the University of Illinois College of Dentistry.
Dr. Jackson is an active member in multiple professional societies including the American Dental Association, The Illinois State Dental Society, The Chicago Dental Society, The Academy of General Dentistry, The Illinois Academy of General Dentistry, and The American Academy of Implant Dentistry, The Academy of Dentistry International, and The International Congress of Oral Implantologists.
Dr. Jackson and his wife Lauren live locally with their two daughters, Sophia (age 2) and Gabriella (age 1), and Yorkshire Terrier, Baxter.
Patrick M. O’Flaherty, DDS, FAGD - Associate Dentist
Dr. O'Flaherty started this dental practice in 1980. In 2009, he sold his half of the practice to Dr. Jackson and currently works in our office on a limited basis. Dr. O'Flaherty was Valedictorian, Summa Cum Laude, of the 1978 class of Loyola University School of Dentistry, where he earned numerous honors and awards, and served on the faculty for many years. His dedication to continuing his education has earned him a fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry. He is also an alumnus of the Pankey Institute of Advanced Dental Education.
Included in his professional memberships are the American Dental Association, Illinois State Dental Society, Chicago Dental Society, Craniofacial Pain Center Association, American Equilibration Society, and the L.D. Pankey Study Club. His community service includes Presidents of 99 PLUS Education Foundation, Rotary Club and St. Joseph Religious Educational Board, Chamber of Commerce Board member, PACES Board of Consultants and YMCA basketball coach. Dr. O'Flaherty grew up in Downers Grove, and lives there with his wife and two sons.
